- US Equities - Goldman Sachs’ trading desk said US equities may need to decline further before staging a durable rebound, citing fragile sentiment and volatile flows after the S&P 500 failed to sustain a move above 7,000. They said geopolitical tensions and commodity price swings have offset a supportive macro backdrop, creating a “painful” near-term path for stocks. Separately, JPMorgan’s CEO Dimon said market optimism appears excessive given risks including Middle East conflict, despite an economy he described as “fine” and high asset prices; Dimon also warned that inflation could become a “skunk at a party” for the US economy, citing risks that price pressures may exceed expectations.
- Fed - Fed Chair nominee Warsh’s attempt to shrink the Fed’s balance sheet would proceed only slowly as he would face resistance over his plan to scale back one of the Fed’s most powerful tools, FT reports.

Separately, Congressional Democrats will challenge the Trump administration’s ban on Anthropic, which prohibits its use across the federal government and by Pentagon contractors, and are seeking bipartisan support for legislation.
