"The head of the Securities and Exchange Organization, Majid Eshghi, said:
- The capital market’s operating conditions in the final week of Farvardin will remain similar to this week if current conditions persist. Reopening the stock market requires meeting minimum disclosure conditions, with at least half of listed companies able to disclose information.
- The first scenario is a continuation of current conditions—either limited trading in funds only or reopening the market without disclosures; the second scenario is an escalation of the war, potentially leading to a full halt of trading, including in funds.
- Under these conditions, outcomes could include a ceasefire with a formal agreement and full reopening, or a ceasefire without agreement and a gradual reopening—requiring plans for each scenario."
The scenarios he outlines reflect the geopolitical landscape, where a ceasefire, whether formal or not, could influence market operability significantly. Traders should closely monitor developments, as they could dictate the viability of investing in Iranian securities and the overall risk sentiment in the region.
