Rheinmetall (RHM GY) and AID to modernise the anti-tank capabilities of the Italian Army

- Rheinmetall’s Italian subsidiary RWM Italia and Italy’s defence agency AID in February signed an MoU to upgrade and extend the service life of MATS anti-tank mines in the Italian Army’s inventory
- The new MATS MK2 will improve safety standards and combat effectiveness.
- RWM Italia will act as design authority, with upgrade work on several hundred thousand units due to begin within 12 months.
