"A military source: The recent drone attack on the UAE was carried out by Israel

Two days ago (17 May), the UAE Ministry of Defence announced that the country’s air defence systems intercepted three drones that had entered UAE airspace from the western borders.

The UAE ministry also stated that two drones were successfully intercepted and destroyed, while the third struck a power generator outside the internal perimeter of the Barakah nuclear power plant in the Al Dhafra region.

For the first time in recent weeks, the UAE Ministry of Defence did not state that the drones had entered from Iran, although previous claims by the UAE had also not been confirmed by the Iranian armed forces.

However, an informed military source told Tasnim that the drone attack on the UAE was carried out by Israel, and that the “Zionist regime” is attempting to push the UAE into playing a greater negative role in the region against Iran and other Islamic countries.

The source added that the UAE has engaged in various “hostile acts” over the past three months, although Iran has publicly claimed responsibility for actions it has carried out against the Gulf state. However, the source claimed that some attacks on the UAE were actually conducted by Israel.

The source stressed that the UAE should now better understand that friendship with what it called the “child-killing Israeli regime” would not bring security or economic benefit, but would instead damage the country’s security, economy and credibility.

The source said the UAE should therefore reconsider its policies.

The military source also stated that Iran is not hostile toward any regional countries, and believes that regional states themselves should provide security for this strategic part of the world and use their resources for the welfare of their peoples."
