In past episodes the market-moving step has been the flash, with the final revision mattering only when it surprises, since that is the print that feeds the euro area aggregate and thus the ECB-relevant series. The distinction worth drawing is between the national measure and the harmonised HICP: it is the harmonised reading, not the domestic CPI, that rolls into the eurozone figure and shapes rate expectations at the front end. France has historically been a moderate-weight contributor to the bloc-wide aggregate, so an unrevised confirmation rarely shifts that calculation on its own. The follow-ons of consequence are the remaining member-state finals and the euro area aggregate itself, where a pattern of upside or downside surprises across the bloc, rather than any single national print, is what has tended to reprice the ECB path. As a confirmation in line with expectations, this is housekeeping rather than signal.
