German Brandenburg CPI (Sep MM) 0.5% (Prev. 0.3%)

The German state-level CPI releases are the standard precursor to the national flash print, and Brandenburg is one of several Lander that publish in sequence through the session, so a single state's month-on-month rate is one input rather than the signal itself.

Context

The established pattern is that the national figure is assembled from these state prints, with the economically larger states carrying the most weight, and the euro and front-end rates reaction has historically been reserved for the national flash and any divergence between the state prints and the prior run-rate. A step-up in the monthly rate versus the prior month is directionally firmer, but state-level volatility around seasonal items, package holidays, and administered prices is well documented and frequently washes out at the national level. The watch item is consistency across the remaining states: clustered readings in the same direction have tended to be a reliable tell for the national surprise, while a mixed set typically dulls the impact of any one print. The Deere & Co tag appears spurious and carries no read-through here.
