Iran Foreign Minister Araghchi tells UN Secretary General Guterres that Iran affirms its determination and will continue the legitimate defence of the security and sovereignty and territorial integrity

Says:

• We criticize the positions and demands of some unilateral parties on Iran to exercise restraint and stop the war.
• The obvious fact should not be ignored, which is that America and the Israeli entity carried out their aggression and imposed war on the region and the world.
• The current state of insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz is a direct result of lawbreaking and American-Zionist aggression.
• Preventing the passage of ships belonging to or linked to the enemy and its allies is a legal right for Iran as a coastal state.
• Our competent authorities, aware of their responsibilities in ensuring the safety and security of navigation in this waterway, have taken the necessary measures.
• We demand serious action and clear and categorical positions by the United Nations to carry out its inherent duty to maintain international peace and security.
