Israeli intelligence officials do not favor entering war against Houthis at this point, or launching preemptive strikes in Yemn, reports Al-Monitor
Reports of this kind, one intelligence establishment's preference against escalation attributed to a single outlet, sit at the soft end of the geopolitical spectrum: they de-escalate by signalling intent rather than by changing any capability on the ground.

The established pattern with Houthi-related risk is that the market transmission runs through Red Sea shipping, freight rates, war-risk insurance premia and rerouting around the Cape, and only secondarily into crude itself, since the disruption is logistical rather than a loss of supply. A reported Israeli reluctance to open a new front therefore matters mostly at the margin for shipping-exposed trades and the energy risk premium, not for the structural picture. What has historically moved these markets durably is not official preference but actual strikes, either on Houthi positions or on shipping, and any shift in US and UK operational posture, which has been the active constraint in past episodes. The distinction worth drawing is between restraint driven by capacity, with Israeli forces already committed on other fronts, and restraint driven by diplomacy, since the former can reverse quickly if attacked while the latter tends to hold longer. Worth watching is whether the report is confirmed or denied by named officials, any change in Houthi attack tempo, and freight and insurance quotes, which have tended to reprice faster than spot crude in comparable episodes.
