Meta (META) CEO says WhatsApp now has more than 3bln monthly active users, including over 100mln in the US

Says:

• Improvements to recommendation systems have increased time spent over the last 6 months by 7% on Facebook, 6% on Instagram, and 35% on Threads.
• Threads now has more than 350 million monthly active users.
• Business messaging is expected to be the next pillar of Meta's business.
• Meta AI app is focused on scaling and engagement this year, with business integration planned for next year.
• Nearly 1bln monthly active users now use Meta AI across its apps.
• Increased capex to bring data center capacity online quicker.

CFO says:

• Threads is not expected to be a meaningful driver of overall impression or revenue growth in 2025.
• Majority of 2025 capex will support the core business rather than generative AI.
• Q2 outlook reflects generally healthy trends so far in April.
• It's very early and hard to know how things will play out over the quarter considering economic uncertainty.
