- Data: Chinese Activity Data (Aug), UK Jobs/Wages (Jul), French/Spanish Inflation Final (Aug), German/EU ZEW Economic Sentiment Index (Sep), US ADP Employment Change Weekly
- Speakers: ECB's Cipollone
- Supply: Japan, UK, Germany, US
The heaviest items on the slate are the Chinese activity prints, which in comparable sessions have set the tone for commodity-linked FX and Asian-exposed European names before European hours, and the UK labour data, which have tended to drive gilt front ends and sterling only when the wage component surprises, wage growth having been the sticky variable in past UK prints of this type. The final French and Spanish inflation readings are confirmatory by construction and have historically repriced little unless they revise the flash, while ZEW sentiment has moved Bunds and the euro only at the margin, being a survey of expectations rather than activity. The weekly ADP series sits as a low-weight precursor to the main US labour releases rather than a driver in its own right. On the speaker side, a single ECB board member of Cipollone's profile has tended to matter only where remarks touch the near-term path debate, and the multi-jurisdiction supply across Japan, the UK, Germany, and the US makes auction concession and tail behaviour the more reliable session tell. The sequencing is the point: Asian data first, European releases into the morning, US supply into the afternoon.
