RBNZ and BoC announcements within the same session have historically produced the classic sequencing problem: the earlier decision sets the tone for the commodity-bloc rates complex, and the later one trades partly off the first's read-across, with NZD and CAD crosses tending to move as a pair when the statements rhyme and decoupling sharply when they do not. Follow-up pressers from Macklem and Rogers matter as much as the BoC statement itself; on previous occasions the bank has used the press conference to walk back or sharpen the statement's bias. ADP ahead of the official labour report follows its usual pattern: it moves front-end pricing on the print but is treated as directional rather than definitive given its uneven track record as a payrolls predictor, so the repricing typically unwinds if it clashes with the broader labour picture. The Beige Book rarely moves markets on its own but has historically fed the Fed-speak narrative in the days after, particularly on labour slack and pricing anecdotes. Broadcom reporting into the AI complex follows the established pattern of the whole semi peer set trading off the guidance line rather than the quarter itself. Australian GDP is the least likely to hold a move given the RBA's reaction function has been well telegraphed.
