Nordea pulls forward Riksbank tightening call; sees 25bps hike to 2.00% in November, another 25bps hike in February 2027

Sell-side revisions of this kind are routine around Nordic policy cycles and tend to matter most when they cluster: a single house pulling a call forward is noise, several houses moving in the same direction within a short window has historically preceded front-end repricing.

Context

The mechanism here runs through the short end of the SEK curve and the policy-rate differential against the ECB, which is the dominant driver of EUR/SEK at the front; a pulled-forward hike narrows that differential faster than the forward strip had assumed. Worth distinguishing is the profile of the call itself: two 25bp steps spread across meetings is a shallow path, and the Riksbank has historically been reluctant to sustain tightening while its larger peers are on hold, given the pass-through of krona weakness into imported inflation cuts both ways. The tells are the next Swedish inflation prints, the Riksbank's own rate-path publication, and whether other houses follow Nordea's revision, since consensus migration rather than any single note is what moves pricing. As an analyst view rather than official communication, the signal is directional and second-order.
