Occidental (OXY) will acquire a 10% stake in an ExxonMobil (XOM) deepwater block offshore Trinidad, Reuters reports citing sources
- ExxonMobil was previously the sole owner of the block since August 2025, and is conducting seismic surveys with data acquisition expected by end of July and interpretation by end of 2026
- Reuters notes that the block borders Guyana's Stabroek Block, where Exxon has made over 30 discoveries, though exploration risk at this early stage remains high.
