Pakistani PM condemns the attack from Yememi Houthis in Mecca and calls on all parties to exercise restraint and step back from escalation
Statements of this kind, a condemnation and a call for restraint from a government outside the immediate conflict, sit at the low end of the escalation ladder and have historically carried little direct market weight.

Pakistan's form in past episodes of Houthi-Saudi confrontation has been verbal solidarity with the Gulf without material participation, a pattern set when it declined earlier requests to join the regional coalition and one that has not tended to alter crude or freight pricing on its own. The channel that matters in Houthi escalation cycles is physical: attacks on Saudi energy infrastructure or on Red Sea shipping transit, where the transmission runs through freight rates, war-risk insurance premia and supply timing rather than through diplomatic rhetoric. The read-through here is marginal and points the other way, since calls for de-escalation from third parties typically accompany the tail of a flare-up rather than its onset. What is worth watching is whether the condemnation is paired with any Pakistani diplomatic or security posture shift toward the Gulf, and whether Riyadh or the Houthis respond in kind or in kind with ordnance. As it stands this is headline noise, not a signal of changed supply risk.
