Level 1
- 16:20BST/11:20EDT: Fed’s Goolsbee (2027 voter) will give a radio interview. Speaking earlier in the week, Goolsbee said inflation is too high and must be front of mind when incoming Chair Warsh starts his term. He said the job market is stable, but cutting rates too much would ignite inflation further.
- 17:20BST/12:20EDT: Fed’s Barkin (2027 voter) speaks on the economic outlook. Speaking in early May, Barkin said the Fed will go meeting-by-meeting and assess how long higher gas prices last. He said recent inflation data raised doubts over whether the inflation fight is finished. He added that employment data was reassuring, and policy remains modestly restrictive, while demand remains healthy.
