Swedish PPI MoM (Jun) M/M 0.1% (Prev. 1.3%)
A sharp deceleration in Swedish producer prices on the month, though monthly PPI in small open economies is noisy and heavily driven by energy and commodity pass-through, so single prints of this kind rarely shift the policy debate on their own. Swedish PPI is a second-tier release for the krona: the Riksbank's reaction function has historically run off CPIF, the labour market and the exchange rate itself, with producer prices mattering mainly as a pipeline signal for consumer inflation further out. The transmission channel, when there is one, is through what softer upstream prices imply for the CPIF trajectory the Riksbank is projecting, rather than any direct read-through to rate expectations. What separates a market-relevant print from a forgettable one is whether it confirms or contradicts the disinflation trend already embedded in the central bank's own forecasts; releases consistent with that trend tend to fade within the session. The follow-ons are the Swedish CPI prints and any Riksbank commentary around them, which carry far more weight for SEK rates than this series. As a data point it is directional corroboration of easing price pressures, not a catalyst.
