Tesla (TSLA) China launches new Model Y Performance AWD, priced at CNY 369k
Tesla's China playbook has for years run through the Model Y, its highest-volume line there, and the pattern has been to widen the trim ladder at the top end first, Performance and Long Range variants, before any reshuffling of the entry trims.

A top-trim launch of this kind is a margin and mix story rather than a volume one: the read-through for China gross margin and average selling price runs through the peer set of premium domestic EV makers whose comparable performance variants sit at similar price points, where Tesla has historically alternated between pricing above them and undercutting them depending on where the price war cycle stood. The tells worth watching are the delivery lead times on the configurator, which have tended to reveal real demand within weeks, and whether the launch coincides with quiet adjustments to the pricing or financing terms of the existing trims, since staggered rollouts have on past occasions been followed by price moves on the rest of the range. Competitive response from the domestic premium cohort is the usual follow-on, and Shanghai plant export allocations are the other variable that tends to shift when a new variant enters the mix. As a product event rather than a financial one, the signal sits in the mix and pricing channel, not the delivery headline.
