Tour the PlatformA modest improvement on the prior month but still below the 50 line, extending what has been a long run of sub-50 readings in Turkish manufacturing surveys. Prints of this size, a fractional uptick within contraction territory, rarely move TRY or local rates on their own; the lira trades primarily off the central bank's rate path and the credibility of the disinflation programme rather than off soft activity data. The relevance is indirect: a sustained contraction in real activity is consistent with the tight-policy stance working through domestic demand, which feeds the argument for continued gradual easing, while an unexpected rebound would complicate it. The distinction worth drawing is between headline drift within the same range and a decisive break above 50, since only the latter would signal a turn in the industrial cycle. Worth watching is how this sits alongside the national PMI and the inflation releases, which carry far more weight for the CBRT reaction function, and whether the sub-indices on output, new orders and employment show the same direction as the headline. As a second-tier release, the signal is confirmatory rather than market-moving.
