US EQUITY OPEN: Indices contained heading into the weekend
OPEN: US indices opened the final trading session of the week with slight losses, although most sectors sit in the green. Health, Industrials, and Technology are the only ones in the red, while Communication Services and Energy sit a top of the pile. On geopolitics, headine newsflow has been thinner today, so far, with reports noting that mediators are working to get the US and Iran back at the negotiating table. As such, and while the crude complex is slightly lower, participants essentially await for a resumption of negotiations or strikes. The Dollar is pretty contained against G10 peers, with Yen and Kiwi outperforming; Japanese assets lead after Finance Minister Katayama said pension funds should be encouraged to invest more in the domestic market, while Kiwi continues to see gains post RBNZ. Precious metals are modestly lower, with Treasuries little changed. Calendar ahead is quiet with Middle East rhetoric in focus. There is a lot of focus on the SK Hynix US listing, which is set to trade when-issued (SKHYV) ahead of official trade on Monday (SKHY); the offering was priced at USD 149/shr.
