US EQUITY OPEN: Stocks open green in volatile trade with geopolitics in focus

US EQUITY OPEN: Stocks have opened in the green on Wednesday on reports the US has sent a one-month cease fire proposal to Iran alongside a 15-point peace plan, however recent reporting suggests Iran does not accept the proposals. Gains are broad-based with the majority of sectors in the green albeit energy stocks are lower, tracking downside in crude prices on the push for a ceasefire from the US - the situation remains fluid however, with Iran seemingly reluctant to accept it so far. T-notes are firmer across the curve with the yield curve flattening; attention turns to the 5-year auction later after the woeful 2-year supply on Tuesday. In FX, the Dollar is leading while AUD lags after soft inflation numbers overnight. Gold, Silver and Bitcoin are firmer with precious metals supported by lower oil prices reducing the need for rate hikes.
