Full post: "Today, the Board of Peace reached a HISTORIC agreement for the COMPLETE DISARMAMENT of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza. This is a monumental step toward lasting PEACE and SECURITY. This agreement is a critical step towards Gaza finally being governed by a new Palestinian government that will work closely with the Board of Peace to help the Palestinian people. At the same time, Israel will have the security it deserves, with Gaza no longer used as a base for terror attacks. This is a major milestone in the implementation of the Trump 20-Point Plan. The agreement will be carried out in carefully structured phases. As disarmament is completed, Israeli forces will withdraw, and the International Stabilization Force will work with a new Palestinian police force to take responsibility for Gaza being safe for its residents and its neighbors. One year ago there was a violent raging war, humanitarian crisis and hostages kept in brutal captivity. We have made historic progress and there is still much work to do. I want to thank the mediators—Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye—for their important efforts, and especially my outstanding team, whose tireless work made this historic breakthrough possible. The threat that emerged from Gaza on October 7 will NOT be allowed to rebuild! Under this agreement, Gaza will finally be in the hands of a new Palestinian government that serves its PEOPLE. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL ON THIS AMAZING DEVELOPMENT, THAT EVERYBODY SAID COULD NEVER BE ACHIEVED! DONALD J. TRUMP President of the United States of America"

Context

Announcements of phased disarmament and stabilization frameworks in this conflict have historically been greeted as de-escalation signals before the implementation detail is tested, and the sequencing described here, disarmament first, then Israeli withdrawal, then an international force and a new Palestinian police structure, mirrors the staged architecture of prior ceasefire and interim arrangements in the region, most of which stalled at the verification phase. The established transmission channel runs through crude: de-escalation headlines have tended to compress the geopolitical risk premium in Brent and WTI, with the move typically fading when compliance questions surface, while gold and the yen take the opposite side of the same risk read. A durable calm in the theatre also matters for freight and insurance costs through Red Sea and Eastern Med shipping, a channel that has repriced sharply in both directions across past flare-ups and truces. The actors named, Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye as mediators, have prior form brokering interim understandings, and the reliance on a phased structure with an as-yet-unformed stabilization force is the familiar weak point. What is worth watching is confirmation from the other parties, since announcements of this kind have on previous occasions been contested or qualified by Hamas and Israeli officials within hours, and any breakdown in the sequencing language is the tell that the risk premium rebuilds. As a single-side announcement of intent rather than an executed agreement, the signal is directional on Middle East risk, not conclusive.
