Indian Manufacturin PMI (Aug) 55.1 (Prelim. 55.6)
A downward revision of this size from the flash estimate is routine in this series: the final reading incorporates the fuller response set, and moves between prelim and final prints of a few tenths are common and rarely treated as new information.

What matters more is the level: a reading comfortably above 50 keeps the series in the expansionary band it has occupied for an extended run, well ahead of most Asian and developed-market peers, so the revision itself changes little in the underlying narrative. The transmission for this print has historically been limited for INR assets; Indian PMIs tend to move local rates and the rupee only at the margin unless they break the established trend, with the services and composite releases carrying more weight for the growth signal given the sector mix of the economy. The follow-ons worth noting are the composite print later in the release cycle and whether the input cost and output price sub-indices shift enough to feed into the central bank's inflation assessment, which is the channel through which survey data has actually reached policy. As a final versus prelim story, the signal is noise rather than trend.
