UK's West says I am hereby giving notice to No10 that I am collecting the names of Labour MPs to call on the PM to set a timetable for the election of a new leader in September, BBC reports.
What it means
The announcement from West about gathering names of Labour MPs aimed at pressuring the Prime Minister for a leadership election timeline signals potential instability within UK politics. This move may elevate concerns over governance and policy continuity, influencing market sentiment towards the GBP and local equities, especially if perceived as a threat to the current administration's stability.
