UK to speed up nuclear power projects via planning system changes, FT reports citing ministers.
What it means
The UK government's decision to expedite nuclear power projects through planning system reforms signals a strategic shift towards strengthening energy independence and security. This move could alleviate reliance on fossil fuels, especially in light of recent geopolitical tensions affecting energy supply, making nuclear a more attractive option amid shifting sentiments towards energy sources.
