Turkish President Erdogan says their main goal is to keep Turkey out of the conflict
Newsquawk Staff ·
- Necessary warnings have been issued to Iran.
- Additional measures will follow deployment of F-16 jets in northern Cyprus.
What it means
President Erdogan’s comments indicate a strategic intent to maintain Turkey’s neutrality amid rising tensions, which may help stabilize regional markets for now. However, the reference to deploying F-16 jets suggests a possibility of increased military readiness, potentially raising geopolitical risk, especially regarding relations with Iran. Traders should monitor how this could impact commodities like oil and regional currencies in reaction to any escalations.
