ABC says US President Trump to mention Iran at 11:00EST/16:00GMT event at the White House.
What it means
The announcement that President Trump will address Iran during a White House event could heighten geopolitical tensions, especially given current U.S.-Iran relations. Markets may react to any rhetoric that suggests escalation or new sanctions, impacting energy prices and safe-haven assets like gold. Traders should watch for immediate volatility in currencies, particularly those closely tied to U.S. interests, as well as in commodities like oil which may be sensitive to shifts in supply outlook.
