Israeli army says defence systems intercepting missiles launched from Iran towards Israeli territory.
What it means
The Israeli army’s report of intercepting missiles from Iran marks a significant escalation in regional tensions. This development could spur safe-haven asset demand, particularly for gold and the yen, while potentially impacting energy markets, especially if further conflict disrupts supply. Traders should closely monitor market reactions across currencies and commodities, as such incidents often create volatility and risk aversion.
